The Saucony Freedom ISO 2 is a new model of running shoe that will be released next July. We recall that this is the second release of a model that was very well received by the public, although this new version promises much expectation for its innovative changes, especially the upper where the house has decided to forget the usual shiny fabric and bet on the point. In fact, this saga started out as Saucony's most innovative and technologically advanced shoes, and promises to continue to be so. This time it increases the support, breathability and freedom of the foot favoring the natural movement in each step.

Saucony Freedom ISO 2, total renovation of the upper

Let's take a look at the performance of this new shoe, where Saucony has decided to renew the midsole technology, now called EVERUN. In the original Freedom ISO model we already saw the original system, in this new one the energy return and cushioning have been improved and increased.

While in the upper of the Saucony Freedom ISO 2, there have been much more noticeable changes, this saga era so far one of the few that kept a shiny upper, now comes into play the new fabric developed by the Japanese house, ISOKNIT. This is a highly anticipated knitted material that, as usual, adapts to the natural movementof our feet and also to the shape, which prevents or reduces irritation and friction caused by footwear. Also, the sock structure of this design brings with it improvements such as better support and breathability, which are always welcome. The truth is that fit was already one of the house's priorities last time, and now it continues to be so in a different style.

As for the outsole, we find a novelty. The shoe has been made with rubber, called TRI-Flex, which considerably increases the durability of the shoe, thus trying to increase the life of the Freedom ISO 2, something they did not take into account with its predecessor.

Finally, in terms of technical performance, this is a lightweight shoe below the 300 barrier, to be exact 290 grams in the men's size 9.5 USA model and 252 grams for the women's model. And the fairly low drop of 4 mm, which makes it a minimalist shoe that increases the runner's contact with the ground.
