The Salomon Wings Flyte GTX is a shoe specially designed for trail running on not overly technical terrain, offering protection, comfort and reliable support in the midfoot section that allows all types of movements to be performed naturally and safely. This version of Salomon 's shoe has been optimized to adapt to off-road terrain so runners can remain confident and secure while experiencing other types of surfaces.

For trouble-free wear during trail running, the shoes have been fitted with a waterproof upper that prevents moisture from entering the shoe while maintaining breathability; incorporating a material that also provides the durability needed to withstand the wear and tear caused by uneven terrain.

Gore-Tex upper

As we have mentioned the upper of these shoes incorporates a mesh that maintains ventilation but at the same time has the characteristic of being waterproof. Salomon has named this technology Gore-Tex. To increase safety, the Salomon Wings Flyte GTX shoe also has a protector in the area of the fingers that keeps them safe from the blows that could receive with rocky material that is on the road.

For added comfort and safety, the shoe has a reinforced tongue which adapts to the natural contours of the foot and is coupled with the rest of the upper through the shoe's lacing system to create an environment protected from any loose material that could penetrate the interior.

Softer midsole

The midsole is made of injected EVA foam that extends across the entire surface, however other technologies have also been incorporated that aim to reinforce this section of the shoe and offer it greater durability and resistance; one of these is the AC Skeleton system that extends from the heel to the midfoot to facilitate a smoother transition from heel to toe.

Between the AC Skeleton material and the outsole of the shoe, another system called AC Muscle has been placed, which adds softness during ground contact and gives the Salomon Wings Flyte GTX greater durability.

Traction no matter the terrain

A trail running shoe must have good traction that allows the runner to perform all types of movement without the footprint feeling unsure or the shoes slipping on the terrain. To achieve this goal, Salomon has placed Contagrip technology in its soles, which guarantees traction regardless of the surface.

In the heel area, AC Tendon technology has been placed, which is designed to facilitate energy return, for an enhanced running experience.

Weighing in at 349 grams in the men's version, there are those who have considered the shoes to be somewhat heavy and their price could also prove to be high, however, the quality of the materials incorporated make them a very good choice for those looking to experiment on off-road terrains.
