Year 2023

We can already advance some news of the new Nike trail running season 2024. The new Nike Pegasus Trail 5 will be available from May next year.

The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 is a trail running shoe that is very popular among mountain runners thanks to its versatility, as it can be used on a wide variety of trails and paths.

Key features of the Nike Pegasus Trail 5

The Nike design team has developed this new model in which we will have greater durability and traction in the most complicated terrains with the necessary softness to run fast in simpler terrains and trails and without great technical difficulties.

The shoe has a new mesh upper designed to offer breathability in those areas where we need it most and reinforcements through a tighter knit construction in the areas of greatest wear (big toe and midfoot), one of the many improvements over the Nike Pegasus Trail 4.

The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 will feature an updated, stiffer, pull-on rearfoot in the heel area for easy on/off and occasional hang-ups after a wet or sweaty run.

The shoe features an updated midfoot containment system thanks to Flywire cabling that locks down the laces and new midfoot mesh on both the lateral and medial sides for additional lightweight support.

The midsole design has been updated with Nike ReactX, Nike Running 's latest answer to deliver high-end performance while reducing environmental impact. With this new material being incorporated into the Nike Pegasus Trail 5, runners will feel more energy return in the same run.

Compared to Nike React foam, ReactX is designed to reduce its carbon footprint in a pair of midsoles by at least 43%, due to energy reduction in the manufacturing process, and increase energy return by 13%.

Another new feature is the all-new outsole, which features Nike Trail All Terrain Compound (ATC) high-abrasion rubber for increased traction. This all-new outsole places the Nike Trail ATC hybrid compound where we need it most to provide directional traction and grip while running on the trails.

Nike Pegasus Trail 5 Ideal Profile

The new shoe gains in versatility, traction and speed, yet it is still part of the brand's Pegasus range, which is aimed at a broad profile of runners who prioritize comfort over fast paces, even so, with the new features it incorporates, runners who need a more complete shoe have one of their candidates in this new model.

In terms of distances, we are facing a shoe that has gained in durability, so we can run with them medium and long distances without problems by not overly technical terrain but with which we will enjoy the shoes.

Technical specifications of the Nike Pegasus Trail 5

In this section we will highlight the weight and the drop of the shoe. Regarding the weight, it is approximately the same weight as its predecessor, this new version weighs 300 grams in the men's version and 243 grams in the women's version.

The drop is slightly increased, and has a drop of 9.5 mm, an unusual drop in shoes (opt for 9 or 10 mm directly) but that will provide good cushioning and comfort.

In short, we are facing a shoe that presents great innovations to get even closer to a wider profile of runners and gains in versatility and grip to enjoy our workouts in the mountains.
