Year 2018

Nike doesn't stop. The new update of the Nike Pegasus 35 puts the spotlight on one of the releases of the year in the running universe, and not only because these Running shoes are an icon, but also because there are many editions of the Nike Pegasus 35, offering runners the best performance in a training model for long distance. And the question is, does it change much with respect to the Nike Pegasus 34? The answer is S?

Aware of this Nike takes care of all the details to the maximum, and in each edition, the evolution is a trademark of the house, hence the Nike Pegasus 35 of Nike Running will return to occupy the top of the lists of bestsellers in running shoes, and sooner rather than later.

Nike Pegasus 35, its most innovative features

With the idea of improving performance, the Oregon-based company's designers have taken into account the assessments and opinions of athletes of all types and conditions, including Olympic, World and European champions such as Mo Farah, an avowed fan of the Nike Pegasus series. Thus, the design of the latest Pegasus interaction combines sections that have already been seen to work spectacularly in previous versions with completely new details.

For example, and as a brief appetizer, the most important novelties of the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 are located in:

  • Beveled heel and ending in tip: It favors every footfall, in addition to offering a more modern, lighter and faster aesthetic.
  • Nike Zoom air chamber: This appears articulated along the entire sole, and is based on the resource used in the Premium model of the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%.
  • More functional tongue: This element of the Nike Pegasus 35 includes a series of notches to make it easier for the runner to put the shoe on and take it off.
  • Women's version with an exclusive element: This version includes a softer Cushlon foam, which is able to adapt exceptionally well to the female foot.

It is clear that the maxim of "renew or die" continues to be the watchword in one of the models that has the largest legion of followers of the American brand in the field of shoes for athletes who run and devour kilometers without thinking about fatigue. Thus, the renewed Nike Pegasus 35 continues to guarantee that characteristic reactive cushioning, but with the addition of trying to maximize both the flexibility of the model, which results in a considerable improvement in each transition. However, without losing any of its great versatility to face long runs and long distance training.

Nike Pegasus 35 with full-length Zoom Air midsole

On the midsole side, the latest installment of the Nike Running Pegasus keeps that effective combination of materials such as Zoom Air units and Cushlon foam, which makes the model unchanged in that feeling of carrying maximum cushioning underfoot. Although it must be said that the Cushlon foam has been updated with a lighter design, which makes the shoe somewhat faster than in previous editions.

This change in the Cushlon foam also has its exclusive detail in the women's version, because this material is softer, being able to offer a better adaptation.

On the other hand, and taking into account the Nike Pegasus 34, the Zoom Air units appeared both in the forefoot and in the heel area of the shoe, but now, the great novelty of the Nike Pegasus 35 is that the Zoom Air unit is presented in full-length like the Nike Vomero, being the first model of this mythical family with this type of treatment.

Snug-fitting and more flexible upper

On the upper, the Nike Pegasus 35 has also opted to keep that stitched mesh, but including a bootie-like construction, in partial form, so that the model presents a perfect fit.

A fit system in which the exclusive Flywire cables are also present, through which the support in the midfoot area is simply superior and, above all, secure.

Another significant detail that Nike designers have used is that they have moved the lower eyelet upwards, so the shoe gains flexibility in the forefoot area.

For its part, the collar has been arranged in the opposite direction to the Achilles tendon in order to offer greater comfort, and that has its raison d'être in the appreciations of Mo Farah himself. And let's not forget the detail of the new notched tongue that makes it easier to put on and take off the shoe.

Outsole inspired by the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%.

Based on the Nike Zoom Vapofly 4%, the outsole of the Nike Pegasus 35 includes the Nike Zoom articulated air chamber along the entire length of the sole, and trying to mimic the curved carbon fiber plate of the Vaporfly 4%. Its raison d'être is none other than to reinforce that responsiveness, which favors both flexibility and transition. Something to which the beveled heel also contributes, also very similar to the Nike Zoom Fly model.

As for the technical specifications, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 maintains the standard 10-millimeter drop, while the weights of the shoe stand at about 266 grams for the men's size 42.5EU; and about 223 grams for the women's size 39EU.
