Year 2018

Among the novelties that come to us in running shoes during this 2018, one of the most anticipated updates are the Mizuno Wave Ultima 10 A training model with maximum cushioning from Mizuno for runners with neutral footprint, even mild pronators, and that are oriented for runners of high weight.

Mizuno Wave Ultima 10, renewed upper features

The most striking feature of this new update of the Wave Ultima 10 is that this model evolves with the idea of maximizing comfort in each step. This evolution is based on the fact that this tenth version of the Wave Ultima 10 significantly improves its design, presenting a more modern and contemporary aesthetic.

In this way, the Mizuno Wave Ultima 10 incorporates a cleaner and more modern upper, because the number of seams is reduced, which also allows to benefit from a reduction of its weight . That is, lighter. In addition, the upper also implements the innovative Jacquard mesh to give this part of the shoe greater flexibility.

With all this, this training shoe for neutral runners includes new thermobonding in strategic points, such as the rear area, eyelet and toe cap. Another new detail of the Wave Ultima is its tongue, which has two small fabric straps attached to the sides to offer a certain firmness and support. It should also be noted that this running shoe incorporates a new, thicker insole, whose mission is to increase comfort and improve the runner's running experience.

More cushioned and reactive midsole

As the Mizuno Wave Ultima 9 already included the Japanese brand's CloudWave technology, everything suggests that the Mizuno Wave Ultima 10 will not vary much in the technologies that make up its midsole. Thanks to the CloudWave, this Ultima 10 maintains the cushioning, stability, softness and reactivity. A responsiveness to which the U4ic and U4icX compounds so characteristic of the Japanese brand also contribute, and that serve to make the model offer greater energy return, but also to execute smoother and more fluid transitions.

On the other hand, the new outsole configuration, already included in the Wave Ultima 9, provides more grip and comfort on the ground.
In short, the Mizuno Wave Ultima 10 is conceived as an optimal training shoe for runners of medium-high weight -about 80 kilos-, and who can wear it as a neutral runner or mild pronator to set paces of 4:30 to 5:30 min/km, or above.
