Sometimes the line that separates the mixedRunning shoes of the flying is too thin, and it is difficult to catalog a particular model. Such is the case of the Mizuno Wave Sonic 2, whose new update responds to the patterns of a mixed model, but that, without a doubt, and for its performance and technical specifications we are talking about a full-fledged racing shoe.

With the new Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 Running shoes you can run all kinds of distances, from short to long distances like a marathon. However, as it is a model suitable for your best version when you wear a bib on your chest, there are certain requirements to be taken into account. On the one hand, the runner's own weight, and on the other hand, if the running technique is rather refined, or not so refined.

So, we are talking about a running shoe with a low profile, and that is oriented to light weight runners (around 70 kilos, but without going much higher in men; and around 50 kilos in women). It is also one of the options for experienced athletes who move at fast paces, feeling a great reactivity underfoot.

What new features does the Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 bring?

Compared to the Mizuno Wave Sonic, its first version, this new silhouette of the Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 does not involve a radical change in the materials and technologies used, and the main changes rather aesthetic than anything else, given that, at a general level, the shoe continues to serve the same performance as its original version to offer maximum speed when completing your quality workouts and speed series, as well as when you go into action in competition.

That's not to say there aren't improvements, because there are. In fact, these Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 incorporate a midsole with the characteristic Wave plate in an encapsulated format. With the idea of increasing its cushioning capacity a layer of U4icX reinforces the Wave system, resulting in this model offering greater reactivity, which favors the impulse, and also adds a great smoothness in each step. In this way an even more dynamic run is achieved and not exempt from an optimal cushioning, as it could not be otherwise seeing from Mizuno.

The upper of these Mizuno Wave Sonic 2 is made of very breathable mesh, but also with an asymmetrical design, which contributes to a better fit and adaptation to the natural movements of the foot. Obviously, the minimalist concept has to be very present, taking into account the morphology of the foot, and without losing that feeling of enjoying an optimal grip, despite the direct contact with the ground that it offers.

In terms of technical specifications, the Wave Sonic 2 from Mizuno have a 4 mm drop, with heel heights of 21 mm and forefoot heights of 17 mm. Little more to add with their weights: 220 grams for the men's version, and 190 grams for the women's model. In short, we are talking about a real flying shoe, and be very clear that you need an excellent running technique to get the most out of it, as they are designed to land with the forefoot or with the midfoot area.
