Year 2016

The arrival of the Mizuno Wave Sayonara 4 is a new evolution, not revolution, with respect to its third edition (Sayonara 3), although it still maintains the label of being the fastest training shoe of the Japanese brand.

In addition, versatility also remains the main hallmark of the Wave Sayonara 4, since runners with a neutral stride and light weight -under 70 kilos- can use it for theirintense series training, or also as an option for their half-marathon competitions, for example.

As it is one of the models that most popular runners wear in every weekend race, the Japanese brand has opted to introduce few variations, and maintain those sections that really work to make the Sayonara saga one of the benchmarks for neutral runners.

What remains unchanged in the Mizuno Wave Sayonara 4

The midsole of the Wave Sayonara 4 continues to incorporate the Wave system, in parallel and in Pebax, but it also brings with it the U4ic compound -a material 30% lighter than EVA-, which contributes to improve the shoe's response, without sacrificing cushioning.

The outsole of the Mizuno Wave Sayonara 4 also uses a combination of compounds of different hardnesses. Thus, in the heel there is the X10 compound, whose main mission is to offer greater durability for runners who heel. Blown Rubber compound, which is softer and favors grip on different surfaces.

What changes in the Mizuno Wave Sayonara 4

It is not a substantial change, nor is it a real revolution, but in the Mizuno Sayonara 4 the drop is reduced. From 11 millimeters to 10 millimeters, seeking to reinforce the idea of offering greater reactivity without reducing cushioning capacity.

The great novelty of the fourth release of the Mizuno Wave Sayonara is in its upper. The two-layer AIRmesh thermo-sealing offers a more breathable and uniform texture, which is intended to improve midfoot fit, while at the same time avoiding possible chafing. The Dynamotion Fit bands continue to be used to create a kind of internal support system.

Regarding weights, the Mizuno Wave Sayonara 4 weighs 250 grams for men's size 42.5EU and 220 grams for women's size 39EU.
