The Mizuno Wave Knit S1 are the other big bet of the Japanese house, along with the Wave Knit R1. Both have been made with a knit upper, a completely new fabric in Mizuno Running shoes being the only two models with this fabric. So it shows a sock-like structure that favors the natural movement of the foot. Another strong point of this sports shoe is its superior cushioning and stability. In this case, what differentiates it from its sister, is that the S1 has been designed for a runner with a pronator footprint and a heavier weight, i.e. a medium or strong build. Thanks to the changes made by Mizuno, the durability and lightness of this shoe has been increased.

Mizuno Wave Knit S1, upper renewed

In the midsole a double system has been included, on the one hand they have added the U4iC technology that provides cushioning and on the other hand, U4iCx that in addition to helping to mitigate the tread provides greater reactivity and stability. We also find the Wave technology, which precedes this model to contribute to provide superior cushioning while adding stability. The same features are maintained in the Wave Knit R1.

As we advanced, Mizuno has decided to include the knit in their new models, a fabric certainly different from what we were used to. Betting on a more modern sock-like structure that provides elasticity and support while increasing breathability. The Mizuno Wave Knit S1 have been made with an innovative cut without reinforcement for superior comfort that favors natural movement, without restrictions of movement. Also, thanks to this lighter fabric , the weight of the sports shoe is reduced by 10 grams compared to previous models.

A new material has been included in the sole, which increases the thickness and, consequently, aims to prolong the shoe's durability. In its construction we can see that it has been made with carbon rubber, providing better traction. We will also notice an increase in cushioning and responsiveness thanks to the blown rubber in the forefoot. And the Flex controllers complete this area, increasing flexibility and reducing weight.

Finally in terms of technical specifications, the Mizuno Wave Knit S1 have a 12mmdrop. Its weight, despite having been reduced thanks to the introduction of the knit, exceeds the 300 barrier in the men's version, 320grto be exact. While in the women's model we find it for 208 gr
