Details of RocLite 280

Colour Green
Year 2017

The Inov-8 RocLite 280 is a multi-terrain shoe that excels in cushioning, flexibility and impact protection, making it ideal for trail running, obstacle courses and soft, muddy terrain. With a design that is well suited for neutral runners and long distance running, this model of shoe provides a comfortable and secure running experience.

Upper features

The upper of this shoe incorporates a synthetic mesh that provides a ventilated and lightweight coverage for the feet. Another highlight is the lacing system, which attaches directly to TPU heat-seals on the sides of the shoe, allowing for a custom fit.

The tongue and collar of these shoes have generous padding to help keep the foot comfortable and prevent it from getting hurt by loose material that we can find during the race.

Midsole

The shoe incorporates several systems that allow for greater cushioning. First, there is a standard EVA rubber layer, which provides adequate cushioning but also maintains the flexibility of the shoe so that movements are not restricted. To provide greater protection against impacts with uneven surfaces, the 3 Arrow Shock system is incorporated, which is a foam that provides cushioning in 3 different directions and provides greater safety and comfort for long distance runs.

The Dynamic Fascia Band system extends from the heel area to the forefoot and is designed to offer greater propulsion to the foot during the toe-off phase, acting as a support that allows for a more energetic stride without the runner having to exert much effort. Finally, the Meta-Shank system, which is located from the midfoot to the forefoot, is designed to add flexibility and impact protection.

The combination of these systems means that the shoe has a 9 drop that gives the foot a substantial platform for cushioning while still allowing movements to remain as natural as possible.

Outsole

The outsole of the Inov-8 RocLite 280 uses a very durable rubber material that offers maximum grip on wet surfaces and adds durability in the most wear-prone areas for enhanced performance. The lug pattern on the outsole offers versatility by allowing for increased grip on different types of terrain.

Meta-Flex grooves are strategically placed in the forefoot area to allow natural movement of the toe area for a more comfortable toe-off.

Fit

Inov-8 has been known for their standard sized shoes, however the RocLite 280 features a slightly wider than normal fit. The forefoot section is wide, while the heel and midfoot feature standard sizing, making the shoe a better fit for runners with wider or medium build feet.

In short, these shoes are designed with a lightweight construction, yet still able to keep your feet protected on long-distance runs over technical terrain. Thanks to their soles that adapt perfectly to all types of surfaces, we will be able to run safely and freely no matter what terrain our desire for adventure takes us through.
