Year 2016

The third version of the Clifton saga from Hoka One One comes in the form of a new update, but retaining the hallmarks of the American brand, consisting of large profiles and great cushioning. All this contained in models in which the weight is reduced to the minimum expression. A line of argument that is repeated in every Hoka One One running shoe, whether for asphalt or trail running.

The Hoka One One Clifton 3 is aimed at neutral runners, and the truth is that appearances can be deceiving. The fact that a Running shoes has rather high profiles - it has a 5 mmdrop and heel heights of 29 mm and 24 mm in the forefoot - may lead one to think that it is a model that ensures optimal cushioning, but also a high weight. This premise is not met in the Clifton 3, and if it weren't for these profiles we could even speak of a shoe with a minimalist tendency. Its reduced weight of 210 grams places the Hoka One One Clifton 3 in the flying shoe segment.

New highlights of the Hoka One One One Clifton 3

The new Hoka One One Clifton 3 features the new SpeedFrame cushioning system, an ultra-lightweight, seamless material that provides superior comfort, especially in the forefoot area. In addition, the Clifton 3 's reinforced upper material also contributes to the model's support.

Another highlight of the Hoka One One Clifton 3 is the wider last. The American brand has also sought to give greater relevance to the Toe Box system to improve a more natural stride, but, at the same time, to favor the freedom of movement of the toes both in the landing phase and in the take-off phase.

In the construction of the midsole, the Hoka One One Clifton 3 continues to use compression-molded EVA, which ensures both stability and cushioning for each stride. The Meta-Rocker geometry also deserves a special mention, which stands out due to its elevation, and whose main mission is to improve the transition from the heel to the forefoot of the shoe.

The soles of the Hoka One One Clifton 3 are designed to provide maximum contact with the ground. The rubber compound is incorporated in the strategic areas of greatest wear, such as the rear and front of the model. This strategic arrangement allows for increased durability.

All in all, the Hoka One One Clifton 3 is that option that the neutral runner cannot overlook, if among his priorities are to enjoy good cushioning, without having to give up a lightweight model.
