Year 2017

Diadora equips its Diadora Mytos Blushield shoes with one of its most recent technologies, the Blushield, to achieve a shoe with more comfortable features that better fits the natural anatomy of the foot to offer greater comfort on the track, but also offers enough versatility to the shoe to adapt to running, or other types of sports, even to use them all day long.

Upper of the shoe

The upper is a combination of mesh and TPU that gives the shoe good durability. The mid-hole mesh facilitates airflow into the interior and maintains a good level of ventilation. A layer of TPU reinforcement runs across the upper and also features a perforation that leaves the mesh exposed to promote ventilation.

While these TPU reinforcements are intended to support the foot, the shoe is quite flexible and could use a little more stiffness on lateral movements, although it will adequately support the foot when making quick changes of direction. The shoe has ample room in the toe and midfoot section which can be adjusted via the laces to prevent foot slippage.

For those with narrow feet, the shoe may be a little wide, in which case we suggest wearing a half or one size smaller than your normal size.

Inside the shoe is a removable insole made of EVA rubber which provides an excellent level of comfort for the foot. If there is something for which the Diadora Blushield will stand out is for the comfort they will offer to our feet.

Midsole

The midsole is made of a molded EVA rubber to which Blushield technology has been added. This technology consists of a compound located in the heel to midfoot area, which better adapts to the natural shape of the foot to provide cushioning that is customized to each user.

Because our body is not totally symmetrical, feet can mold differently in each shoe; the purpose of this technology is to make both feet feel equally comfortable.

This midsole is also very light and thin allowing for a good ground feel. Although the comfort of the midsole is most noticeable when we are standing, it also offers a soft feel when in motion.

Outsole

The herringbone pattern on the outsoles gives the Diadora Blushield excellent traction on the court, facilitating sliding but also functioning efficiently during braking. To provide added durability the firm has placed some additional rubber reinforcements in the areas most prone to wear. Some flex grooves extend throughout the outsole and facilitate movements in all directions.

Overall, the Blushield offers excellent comfort and traction characteristics, plus its light weight makes it a fairly fast shoe that will respond efficiently during quick changes of motion. Although a little more stability and arch support could be missed, the shoes will adequately fulfill their role when taken to the court.
