Attention triathletes! The imminent arrival on the market of the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 has set off all the alarms among the lovers of this sport discipline. If the iconic Gel Noosa Tri saga from ASICS Running is characterized by something, it is for being a high-performance model that incorporates the latest technology from the Japanese company in combination with an eye-catching design. If the previous version was a turning point in this successful family, this latest interaction continues to maintain all the features of its predecessor.

These ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 running shoes are leading the way in terms of comfort and lightness. A model that stands out for its quick-tying elastic laces so you don't lose a precious second during transitions. Designed for the most demanding triathletes, they are a safe bet for neutral runners looking to move at fast paces in training and/or competitions up to medium distance.

ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14, main features

Although this new release does not incorporate too many innovations with respect to its predecessor, it has undergone slight improvements. The midsole incorporates FlyteFoam, one of the company 's lightest compounds that guarantees an unprecedented level of absorption for a more natural and dynamic stride. The main novelty of the previous version, the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 13, was the inclusion of the GuideSole system, a structure that "cancels out" flexibility but ensures greater efficiency in running biomechanics. A structure that is still in place in this latest update.

The striking design of this iconic saga continues to be a hallmark of this fortieth edition. With an upper crafted through a Jacquard woven mesh, product designers have opted to include different patterns in specific areas to enhance fit, support and breathability.

As mentioned above, the quick-tie elastic laces and pull tab make transitions in triathlon competitions and/or training much easier.

The outsole has been constructed through the company's most durable compound, AHAR+ rubber.

ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14, technical specifications

The imminent arrival on the market of the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 has aroused great interest among the most demanding triathletes, and it is no wonder. Although it has few new features compared to its predecessor, with very subtle changes that mainly affect its upper, the Noosa Tri 14 is crowned as one of the best launches of 2023 shoes. With a 5mmdrop and a weight of 215 grams, they will be available with an RRP of 140€.

Review of ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14

ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14, the Japanese brand's legendary shoe for triathletes

I wanted to start with this review for several reasons. On the one hand, because it is my debut in this type of analysis and on the other hand because I'm going to talk about a specific triathlon shoe, discipline that I practice since 2019. I had the opportunity to make my debut with these ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14

The tongue straps along with the quick fastening laces that the Japanese brand incorporates with the shoes make the transitions faster and more comfortable. On this occasion and thanks to its GUIDESOLE technology in the midsole helps us to reduce ankle flexion. Just after putting on this model my sensation has been the same as putting on a sock. Its mesh upper and the cushioning sensation thanks to the incorporation of the FLYTEFOAM that absorbs impacts, make these ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 a truly comfortable running shoe.

This is a mixed shoe that can be used not only for competition, but also for our day-to-day training sessions that are a little more demanding, focused on triathletes with a neutral stride and light weight with medium to high paces.

What type of runners are the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 for?

Just hearing the name Gel Noosa Tri already tells us what type of runner these shoes are for; focused on neutral and lightweight triathletes with medium - high paces, they are certainly a great option to consider.

These ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 have a really light weight of only 218g. As I have already mentioned before, its GUIDESOLE technology in the midsole and its FLYTEFOAM cushioning make these ASICS Gel Noosa tri 14 a shoe that will help us in our transitions reducing ankle flexion and helping to conserve energy.

It's not just the aforementioned technology that makes this a great triathlon shoe. Its mesh upper that wraps the foot of great breathability and AHARPLUS outsole that improves the durability of the same with respect to previous models of this saga, contribute to improve these ASICS.

It should be noted that, along with the shoes, ASICS incorporates quick fastening laces that we like so much to those who practice triathlon, this detail may go unnoticed, but it is a plus point over its rivals, such as the HOKA Rincon 3 Another detail to highlight is its tongue with strip that along with a higher heel than usual make that we can quickly put on the shoes in our transitions.

For what distances do we recommend the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14?

I have read and heard different opinions about the recommended distances for these Gel Noosa Tri 14. But in my opinion, the distances I would use them for would be 10k and 21k, however, I don't rule them out for 42k, but it's not the distance I would recommend for this type of shoe. Mixed Shoe that can be used not only for competition, but also for our day to day training sessions that are a little more demanding.

What we liked most about the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14

After testing these striking ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14, there are 2 points that I liked the most about them.

The first point to highlight is their great comfort and the great sensation they provide as soon as you put on these ASICS. Thanks to its mesh upper and shock-absorbing FLYTEFOAM cushioning, this triathlon shoe feels really comfortable.

As I've already mentioned before what discipline these Gel Noosa tri 14 are focused on make it their second strong point. A shoe THOUGHT FOR THE TRIATHLETE, how many of these want a comfortable shoe, medium - high pace and above help us in our transitions? Well, with this shoe the Japanese brand has achieved it.

Opportunities for improvement in the ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14

The ASICS Gel Noosa Tri 14 is a very durable shoe, but it doesn't stand out for its durability and much less for its grip in the wet.

I have been able to test it on different asphalts and the feeling I get from this Noosa tri 14 is that it does not traction on wet ground.

With which models can we compare the ASICS NOOSA TRI 14?

Few brands like ASICS launch a shoe focused on triathlon. These Noosa tri 14 may have few competitors in this sector. I leave you with several models that I think may fit in terms of features:

ASICS NOOSA TRI 14 Final Conclusions

Designed to give comfort and ease to the triathlete in his transitions. Mixed Shoe where medium to high paces will get the most out of it.

After testing these ASICS NOOSA TRI 14, the final conclusions I draw is that they are a shoes by and for triathlon. Designed to give comfort and ease to the triathlete in their transitions. Mixed Shoe where the medium - high paces will get their maximum performance. A great ally for those triathletes who do not want to have a shoes for racing and another for training.

I want to highlight the sensation of this model when putting on the shoe, as I said before this feeling is similar to wearing a sock instead of a shoe.

A great detail that makes you realize that these ASICS are designed for triathlon, is that in the same box along with the shoes they add a pair of quick adjustment laces.
