Adidas Terrex Trailmaker, trail running shoes perfect for both training and competition. Adidas wanted to design a shoe aimed specifically at neutral runners, so the Adidas Terrex range and with it the Adidas Terrex Trailmaker, are already the ideal shoes for many mountain runners.

Adidas Terrex TrailMaker, comfortable and lightweight

The German brand has managed to create a durable trail shoe with great cushioning. The Adidas Terrex TrailMaker are designed for competitions or middle distance training, but at the same time they are a great bet for beginners in mountain running.

  • Upper

The upper of these shoes is composed of a highly breathable mesh mesh. Although a priori it gives the feeling of little protection or discomfort, when wearing them it is quite the opposite. The perimeter of the shoe incorporates the thermo-sealing system, which offers extra protection against knocks, rubbing against stones or falls. What's more, this system provides waterproofing over the entire surface of the shoe, ideal for waterlogged terrain or rainy days.
On the other hand, in the part before the laces, the mesh design is even more open for a higher level of breathability. This area of the foot is less exposed to impacts, so the incorporated fabric is not as protective. Therefore, it provides better sweat evacuation and drying speed in this area of the shoe.

  • Outsole

We already know the importance of the outsole in trail running shoes, the grip to the surface must be excellent and without the option of slipping. Adidas has chosen to incorporate a compound in the sole of the Continental brand. This firm, also German, has created one of the best grip and traction compounds on the market. One of the many advantages of these soles is the ability to adapt perfectly to most surfaces, whether rocky, greasy, wet or muddy. It adapts to all types of terrain, both downhill and uphill.

What is striking about the outsole of the Adidas Terrex Trailmaker is its two types of lugs. On the outside of the sole we find lugs that provide stability and balance for any type of surface. On the inside, on the other hand, the lugs are slightly smaller in size and provide the necessary traction and grip.

Another feature of the sole are the grooves, which provide flexibility and adaptability to the terrain, and go from the front of the foot to the bridge area.

  • Midsole

The midsole incorporates EVA foam, which is lighter, more resistant and provides extra cushioning. In addition, to improve the performance of these Adidas, the Adiprene+ system has also been added, which offers greater comfort to the runner and favors the impulse in the support and take-off of the foot.

The combination of these two midsole compounds provides the perfect and necessary result for a trail running shoe that is light, comfortable and with excellent cushioning.

  • Lacing system

The Adidas Terrex TrailMaker features a lacing system known as"Lace Bungee". It consists of a single elastic strap with a puller to hold the excess when tightening. The advantage of this system is its level of fit and support, and also avoids having to stop to reattach the laces.
