ASICS presents a new edition of one of the flying shoes par excellence of the brand, the ASICS Metaspeed Sky Tokyo, a shoe that will be available on the market from July 25, 2025.

What are the expectations of the new ASICS Metaspeed Sky Tokyo?

ASICS is renewing the Metaspeed range, calledTokyo" because of the brand's collaboration with the upcoming World Athletics Championships to be held in the Japanese capital in September, in which ASICS is an official partner.

The new version improves performance and incorporates new technologies that make it more dynamic than the ASICS Metaspeed Sky Paris.

The shoe is the flagship of the brand's Metaspeed range, a high-performance range first introduced in 2021 that responds to the different needs of the fastest runners.

The upper features an improved version of the Motion Wrap 3.0 fabric, a fabric that stands out for its lightness and breathability in addition to providing us, thanks to its thin and light tongue, a good fit of our feet inside the shoe.

In the heel area it has padding that allows us to run fast and comfortable at the same time in our asphalt competitions.

The main innovations are found in the midsole of the shoe, as it incorporates the new Flyte Foam Leap foam that combines perfectly with the high performance foam Flyte Foam Turbo Plus.

The result of the presence of these technologies in the midsole is that they offer a softer and more reactive stride than the previous version, also improving in an important aspect for fast running, as they offer greater stability, allowing athletes to run with confidence at maximum speed over long distances.

The new version maintains the full-length carbon fiber plate that gives us that extra reactivity and speed needed to run at fast paces.

The outsole continues to feature the ASICSGRIP technology that works so well with a design very similar to its predecessor, guaranteeing good durability and grip on asphalt.

The new version of the shoe is aimed at runners who aspire to improve their times in middle and long distance competitions on asphalt.

This is the model in the range that is designed for stride-style runners, who increase their speed by lengthening the length of each stride.

Lightweight or even medium-weight runners (over 70 kg) with a neutral stride and a refined running technique will be able to get the most out of the shoe.
