The long-awaited release date of the adidas Adizero Boston 13 has arrived

The latest version of one of the most popular and veteran sagas of the German multinational is now available. We are referring to the adidas Adizero Boston 13, a shoe that comes with a design inspired by vintage adidas models and that pays tribute to the color combinations of the 1991 Boston Marathon staff uniforms.

The adidas Adizero Boston 13 is a running shoe that guarantees a great combination of speed and comfort for your workouts and/or running competitions, making it one of the most versatile and popular shoes of the brand.

The adidas Adizero Boston 13 has been designed to provide great energy return and excellent cushioning in long distance races. In addition, its versatility provides speed and control even on shorter distance runs.

Special edition of the adidas Adizero Boston 13 for its release

First introduced in 1980, these shoes have become an iconic adidas model with a long history in performance running.

Shortly before the Boston Marathon, a special edition of the adidas Adizero Boston 13 in the EQT (Equipment) colorway was unveiled as part of a broader suite of sports gear for the iconic event that also includes apparel, accessories and footwear.

The design of the currently available shoe is inspired by the brand's vintage designs and retro teal, white and black color schemes of the 1991 Boston Marathon staff uniforms.

We will have to wait until June 4th to be able to purchase the shoe with additional color combinations to the current one already available on the official website today, May 6th, 2025.

Main new features of the adidas Adizero Boston 13

The adidas Adizero Boston 13 incorporates the latest technologies developed by adidas, staying true to its legacy: the company's constant commitment to help runners achieve their best times in their training and/or competitions.

The new version incorporates interesting improvements over the adidas Adizero Boston 12 to allow us to gain a few seconds more to the stopwatch and also improving comfort.

In creating the new Boston 13, we wanted to create the ultimate fast training shoe. We gathered feedback from athletes and consumers of the Boston 12, who revealed that they were looking for more comfort while retaining the hallmark of the original Boston. 13.8% more Lightstrike Pro foam

The adidas Adizero Boston 13 features an upgraded version of Lightstrike Pro foam in its midsole that provides almost 14% more reactivity than the previous version.

Lightstrike Pro technology is characterized by its reactivity and lightness (it weighs less than the popular Boost foam) and its main objective is to help us maintain fast paces in long distance running competitions.

ENERGYRODS 2.0 carbon shafts

The ENERGYRODS 2.0 carbon shafts that are so well suited to those runners who may not be able to extract the maximum performance from a full-length carbon fiber plate are staying.

ENERGYRODS 2.0 carbon rods are already a key component in the adidas Adizero range. They are designed with the primary goal of improving the heel-to-toe transition, providing greater momentum in each of our strides.

Increased comfort

The more airy and flexible mesh of the new version is perfectly complemented by the padding in the heel collar and tongue that provide us with that more comfortable feeling in the upper while running.

This greater harmony in the upper translates into a perfect fit of our feet that remain firm in its position, maintaining that stability necessary to run at fast paces by runners who do not have a technique as refined as high-performance athletes.

Lighttraxion outsole

The new version adopts the LIGHTTRAXION pattern in a large part of the outsole with the main objective of reducing weight but without sacrificing the grip and durability that we demand from shoes with the characteristics of the adidas Adizero Boston 13

Also present is the Continental rubber which other models of daily training running shoes of the brand have, but that, in this version, loses prominence and presence in favor of LIGHTTRAXION.

As for the technical specifications, it has an intermediate drop of 6 mm (reduced by one millimeter compared to the previous version) with 37 mm heel and 31 mm forefoot profiles. The weight of the shoe is 260 grams for men and 219 grams for women (very similar to the adidas Adizero Boston 12).
